Telegram plans IPO
The investment company BCS sent out a PRE-IPO Telegram presentation to investors. The brokerage document states that Telegram plans to conduct an IPO in the 2nd-3rd quarter of 2025.
As part of the PRE-IPO, BCS is offering to qualified investors, through its Cyprus branch, convertible bonds of Telegram Group Inc, with a minimum purchase amount of $9,500. The bonds, with a yield of 7% per annum and maturity on April 22, 2026, include an option that allows the bonds to be converted into shares at the IPO with discount:
โข 10% if the IPO is before March 2024.
โข 15% if the IPO is before March 2025.
โข 20% if the IPO is before March 2026.
The document also notes new monetization methods that Telegram may resort to in the future:
โข Advertising in stories.
โข Premium for teams in 2023 (expanded shared folders, shared workspaces, increased storage, etc.).
โข Fintech for India (payment service for P2P and P2M transactions. Negotiations are currently underway with one of the major local players).
