Notability Checks

In addition to 2 verified accounts (Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, VK, Snapchat), Telegram will now do notability checks:

During the submission process, you will also be asked to provide at least 2 links to press articles mentioning you or your organization. To assist in the verification process, it’s preferable if:

- The publisher is well-known and long-standing
- The article is written in English

The articles must mention the public figure or organization in question, but don't need to link to Telegram.

MIUI 的又一次回收用户权利

2023年8月9日，有用户发现部分软件无法通过 MIUI 的应用包管理组件禁止 Telegram 更新，更新时会显示「根据相关法律法规及监管要求，禁止安装该应用！」

根据测试者的数次尝试来看，应该是应用包管理组件联网对比了包名或者签名，以此禁止部分 App 的安装，所以目前只需要离线安装，就能绕过此禁令。

但这是现在的情况，尚不明确未来 MIUI 会不会有其他的手段，进一步回收用户权利，比如直接卸载已安装的 App。

对 gledos 来说，gledos 不希望有人能知道自己使用过的软件，以及在什么时候开启了某个 App，DNS 记录或者是在图书馆借阅了某本书。如果有相对容易的方法能够阻止被大规模监控（比如棱镜），gledos 就会尝试，比如使用防火墙禁止软件直接联网，让软件只能走代理，然后是使用 DnsCrypt，以及不需要实名就能看的电子书。

毕竟出现过 有人在孔夫子旧书网购买书籍，然后被要求上缴的情况，还有疑似因为直连 Telegram，导致手机号被电信公司冻结的案例。

考虑到隐私保护能够保护自己的权利，学习更多的知识，还能减少遇到的麻烦，应该是非常划算的技能。

标题之所以称为又一次，是因为 MIUI 已经多次回收用户的权利了，其中有限制解 Bootloader 锁、添加防回滚机制、限制大陆／全球 ROM 互刷、内置软件黑名单、隐私保护白名单、相机敏感词、未登录的情况下限制 ADB、自动添加 114 DNS（导致 DNS 泄漏）以及上传应用列表等等。

MIUI identifies Telegram as a dangerous app

Xiaomi's new MIUI security feature has identified Telegram as a dangerous app.

The new feature, which was launched in China in February 2022, scans sideloaded apps "for security vulnerabilities and illegal content".
If an app is found to contain malware or other harmful content, MIUI will force users to uninstall it. There are claims that the incident also gets reported to Chinese police, but there's no clear evidence on that.

The scanner claims Telegram contains fraudulent content, and thus must not be used.

Listing Telegram as a dangerous app is probably another sign of the Chinese government's crackdown on free speech and privacy. In recent years, the Chinese government has blocked or limited access to an increasing number of websites and apps, including Facebook, Twitter, and Google.
