Recently, on May 1, 2025, a U.S. judge ruled that Apple broke a 2021 court order by charging a 27% fee on external payments and discouraging their use. Apple was ordered to stop these practices, remove restrictions on developers linking to outside payment options, and pay Epic Games’ legal fees. This could let Epic bring Fortnite back to the iOS #AppStore with cheaper in-game purchases, possibly soon, if Apple approves. #Apple plans to appeal, which might delay things. #Epic’s also fighting Apple in Europe over similar issues.
